TOG 'Gyoto' Chef's Knife
TOG knives is a British company that combines the best in Japanese artisan knife making with British design and innovation to create the ultimate kitchen knife. Suitable for both professionals and culinary enthusiasts, TOG blades are forged in Seki City, the Samurai sword capital of Japan.
Just like the swords that have been made there for 800 years, TOG blades are layered and hardened to give an unparalleled combination of strength and sharpness. Sandwiched in between the layers of steel are 10 layers of antimicrobial copper alloy resulting in a series of beautiful orange stripes and a hygienic blade.
The handles are made from Kebony maple, a durable, warm and eco-friendly alternative to tropical hardwoods which are shaped by master craftsmen in Sheffield, England and finished off with a laser etched 600yr old Japanese pattern. The Gyoto is used as a general purpose knife by many chefs for mincing, slicing and chopping vegetables. It's also handy for disjointing large cuts of meat.
