FROM UK MASTERCHEF CHAMPION -  EDDIE SCOTT comes MISARANA -Eddie's brand new cookbook bringing everyday classic dishes brought to life with an array of vibrant Indian spices.

Best known for his inventive take on Indian cuisine, Eddie Scott won the competition and adoration of the public with his heartfelt approach to food. In his brand new cookbook MISARANA, which translates as fusion in Punjabi, he draws upon his unique memories and heritage (cooking amazing homemade meals with his grandparents, eating in bustling French bistros on family holidays, visiting the vibrant street food stalls in India and travelling the world in the Merchant Navy) to create a collection of inspirational, yet relatable dishes. 

Come and join Eddie as he cooks up a storm at the Divertimenti kitchen with recipes from his new book on it's publication day! Eddie will be creating the recipes in person & signing books after the demonstration.

Eddie Scott’s first memories were spent in the kitchen: he grew up in a family who loved to cook great food. Childhood summer holidays were spent touring around France and it was on these adventures that Eddie discovered his love of classic regional French cuisine. Holidays were spent going off the beaten track, eating real food in cafeterias and workers cafés; where only the locals ate! Eddie was astounded at the variety of brilliant ingredients and the culture of food in France. His teenage years were spent teaching himself a repertoire of elaborate dishes from the great French masters, ranging from Sole à La Meunière to Île Flottante - recreating his holidays at home. Eddie’s cooking is also inspired by his family’s Indian, Punjabi heritage.

His grandparents, both brilliantly skilled cooks taught him the basics of Punjabi cuisine and the art of cooking with spice. You will often find an exciting Indian twist in his classically inspired food. Eddie is particularly passionate about the Royal cuisines of India and has spent years perfecting his Hyderabadi biryani.

In 2022, Eddie fulfilled a life cooking ambition, becoming MasterChefUK Champion, where he got to showcase his signature style. He leaves behind a successful career as a Marine Pilot, to embark on a new and exciting life in food.

Since winning Masterchef, he has spent time honing his skills at his favourite restaurant: Michelin starred “The Pipe and Glass” in East Yorkshire. Eddie was also lucky enough to have the opportunity of cooking at world-renowned “Restaurant Gordon Ramsay” on Royal Hospital Road.

Eddie has spent time travelling around India, researching, exploring and learning about India’sfascinating and diverse food culture. In 2024, Eddie will open his first restaurant in his hometown of Beverley in East Yorkshire. Named after his favourite childhood restaurant in France -“L’Opaline Bistrot” will showcase everything that Eddie loves about cooking: from his love of traditional, hearty French bistro fare to fiery Indian street food classics, with some Indian fusion cooking thrown in too. 

You will be learning in a beautifully designed kitchen which provides a warm welcoming environment that can accommodate everything from group cookery classes to intimate chef’s tables, with the versatility to suit everyone.

Our partners have been chosen with great care, as all our equipment must stand up to the day-to-day rigours of our cookery school – much like a professional kitchen, that you can enjoy using whilst creating your own amazing dishes in class to give you the best possible experience when cooking with us.

Our classes and outstanding range of teachers will help you hone your gastronomic skills, even if you are a complete novice or a dab hand in the kitchen. We love highlighting new upcoming food trends and championing the rising stars within the culinary world.

Divertimenti does everything it can to reduce the risk of any students consuming an allergen that could cause and allergic reaction.

Please call the school to discuss any severe food allergies prior to booking a class online, we must speak to you before you visit the school if you have a severe allergy or severe dietary intolerance.

We will become as flexible as possible, where we can to remove a specific ingredient from a student’s recipe we will but we are unable to remove that ingredient for every student attending.

We handle all types of ingredients in the kitchen at Divertimenti and we are not able to completely allergen free environment, our kitchen is multi-purpose therefore this makes our kitchen unsuitable for those with life- threatening allergies, in such cases as these we would suggest getting in touch with the team to arrange a private lesson in your own home with one of our chefs. In the unlikely event you are unable to the class you have booked for and need to cancel your booking, for a full refund we will require your cancellation via email no less than 7 days.

Once we have received your cancellation, we will arrange a booking onto an alternative class date or a full refund, sadly we are unable to make changes to bookings or offer a refund with less than 7 days of the date of your class but we are happy to switch the names on the booking so a family member or friend can take the place.

Divertimenti reserves the right to cancel any demonstration or class or substitute another presenter at any time, in the unfortunate event that a ‘Personality’ present or chef cannot attend a session you will be offered the choice of an appropriate alternative or a full refund.

Attendees must be aged over 18 to attend an adult class - we have a list of suitable young adult and teenage classes suitable for under 18’s – they must be accompanied by an adult.
