A Punjabi Supper Club by Dipna Anand
We are thrilled to be welcoming Dipna Anand to the cookery school for our 3rd Supper Club, a true Punjabi feast full of Dipna's signature favourite dishes. Get to know Dipna and the story behind her supper club below.

The Punjabis, as a people, have an enormous love for food — and for sharing it. In Punjab, a meal isn’t just about eating, it’s about gathering, celebrating, and showing love through flavour. At the Brilliant Gastro in Southall, where my family and I cook every day, that same spirit is alive in every dish — and it’s exactly what I’m bringing to my supper club at Divertimenti on October 8th.
The fertile land of Punjab — “the land of five rivers” — has long provided golden wheat, fragrant rice, and lush vegetables, while centuries of trade have brought spices like cumin, coriander, and saffron into our kitchens. And ghee, our beloved golden clarified butter, still enriches everything from slow-cooked black lentils to sweet carrot pudding.
For this special evening, I serve the flavours I grew up with — perhaps a crisp onion bhaji with tangy chutney to start, a fragrant biryani alongside soft butter naan, and a dessert that carries the warmth of home. Every dish has its own story, a link to my family’s table, and a piece of Punjabi tradition on the plate.
At Brilliant Gastro, we live these flavours daily. At Divertimenti, I’m inviting you to taste them, hear the stories behind them, and experience a little slice of Punjab, from my kitchen to your table.
