Yaxell Super Gou Kirtsuke Knife - 20cm

£299 £379
The Yaxell Super Gou Kirtsuke Knife is a great alternative to a classic Chef's knife. It's got the added bonus of having the sharp, narrow tip; making it easy to clean up cuts or meat or de-boning. The knife is designed with a straight edge, meaning there isn't a rocking motion - it's better suited for a chopping motion when dealing with vegetables and herbs.

One of the very finest ranges of Japanese knife ever conceived, every aspect of the construction of the Yaxell Super Gou Ypsilon knives has been overseen by expert craftsman in Seki Japan, the famous Japanese city of blades where legendary Samurai swords have been produced for over 700 years.

Each Super Gou Ypsilon knife is made from 193 layers of folded steel with a core of micro carbide powdered SG2 stainless steel - a construction first created exclusively for these amazing and unique knives. The many layers of steel means each blade has superior sharpness and edge retention as well as creating a beautiful looking blade.

Engraved on each blade there are four characters, which read ‘Super Gou, The Samurai Spirit’. The handles are made of black micarta and feature a Samurai Crest inlay, one of the most traditional in Japan. Micarta is a very strong and hygienic material made from layers of canvas cloth set in polycarbonate resin and formed at high temperature and pressure. The resulting knife handle is every bit as hygienic as a stainless steel one but much more comfortable to hold, particularly after prolonged use.

These knives are highly covetable and will give continual joy and a lifetime of superb service to any aficionado of the art of the Japanese knife maker.

Age Restrictions

You must be 18 or over to buy this item. Proof of age required on delivery.

Always take care when using sharp knives. Cut away from the body and always store knives safely in a block or with a sheath to cover the blade if kept in a drawer. Make sure your knife is sharp - a blunt knife requires more pressure to cut and is more likely to slip. Sharpen and hone on a whetstone.

For best results wash knives by hand with warm water and a little detergent. Dry with a soft cloth. Use your knife for its specific cutting purpose - it is not designed to be a screwdriver or tin opener. Abuse could result in damage to the blade and yourself.

All orders that do not meet the minimum £50 threshold will incur a £4.95 delivery charge.

We aim to dispatch orders within 1-2 working days.
