Join us for a special cookery demonstration and book launch celebrating The Apothecary Chef — a vibrant exploration of herbs, plants, and their ability to elevate both flavour and wellbeing.

Drawing on ingredients harvested from fields, gardens, markets, and kitchen windowsills, The Apothecary Chef showcases the power of plants in everyday cooking. Featuring over 85 recipes from 30 award-winning chefs across 11 countries, the book blends culinary creativity with nutritional insight, offering inspiration alongside practical guidance.

During this live cookery demonstration, guests will discover how herbs and plant-based ingredients can be mixed, matched, and layered for maximum flavour and nourishment. The book highlights more than 60 plant-based ingredients, all reviewed by a culinary medical team, and includes a comprehensive directory of 50 edible plants and herbs to grow and cook at home.

Ideal for cooks, gardeners, and food lovers alike, this event is an opportunity to experience the philosophy of The Apothecary Chef in action and celebrate the launch of a truly distinctive cookbook.

Ticket price includes a copy of the book, and there will be plenty of time for a Q&A and book signing.

NATASHA MACALLER spent 30 years as a professional ballerina performing with New York’s prestigious Joffrey Ballet and Boston Ballet, completing her exhilarating career in the Broadway and Los Angeles productions of The Phantom of The Opera. Turning her artistic spirit to a second creative career in the kitchen and garden, Natasha channels the same passion, diligence and precision that made her a successful dancer into the art of cooking. She divides her time between Los Angeles, London and New Zealand, where she teaches cookery courses, writes and is often found in the garden between the rhubarb and the tomatoes. She’s also a highly sought-after restaurant consultant.

The Apothecary Chef, her third cookbook, is a homage to her curiosity of growing a Noah’s ark of fruit, vegetables and herbs in her New Zealand garden and using these and other beneficial grown, foraged or purchased ingredients to blend and create healthful, flavourful and inspired recipes.
